Bugger!

I suppose tis inevitable, the dreaded COVID has insinuated into the Flaxen Saxon Estate. We are all sick at the moment and I'm suffering severely. It will take a week or so before I'm on the mend and therefore I will take a little time off this 'blogging game'. To be honest, I'm not up to composition and my mind is a fog.

Anyway, normal service will be resumed when I'm feeling okay.

  1. Bad luck Flaxen. We have friends who have just succumbed to the " Dreaded Lurgi" and are isolated.
The thing that gives me pause for thought is that both of them are vaccinated to the utmost and are determined mask wearers but still got it ,so what price all the precautionary pantomime?

    1. Nearly 2 years ago we made maximum effort to keep it out, and it worked for a while. But it only took 1 infected person......

    2. Dear Flax,
so good to see you back on deck. I recover from corona exactly these days. Strange shit. Nice to read about the 100 years war. Poor Ukrains rather should order British longbows, than suicidal vintage tanks they are going to get actually from Germany. I won´t be surprised by war with the Russians (+ China!?) in less than a year. With a bunch of pc careerists pretending to govern our fucked country - no match for Reichskanzler Putin. I should honestly think about NZ.
      bloody unamused Josh

  2. In the Land of the Long White Cloud? Shirley not.
Jacinda Adern, that well known acronym and star of Alien, had ensured you were all saved.
Maybe instead of getting Covids v 1.0 to v 11.9 in six monthly instalments you will be blessed with the Box Set of them all at once.

    1. Not as bad as flu, but unpleasant all the same.

  4. Hope all is well soon. I assume it's a coincidence, now that Kim Il Arden has changed her mind about you not being able to go anywhere, you catch the bug that's stopping you going anywhere?

  5. That is unfortunate Mr Saxon, take it easy and have a speedy recovery.

  6. You're lucky it'll be the latest version, which is less severe than previous 'releases'. Although obviously not obvious to Ms Adern, the rest of the world was waiting for NZ to open up again, for the inevitable spread of an unstoppable bug.
    Get well soon!

    1. Funny, I never get headaches, even after a night on the beer. But this COVID has given me head pain- the last time was about 45 years ago.

  7. It isn't a lot of fun, I hope you are on the mend. We all had different symptoms, ranging from Coughing so badly I thought lungs were going to appear (The Boss) to 'Dad, I have tested podsitive. But no other symptoms' (Middle daughter) I had a head full of wet cotton wool cement stuff. Such fun.

    1. Indeed. My symptoms have been a mixture of a cold and flu. After 7 days I think I'm on the mend.....

    2. Yes the whole family has had the three vaccinations. This is not a controversial issue for me.

  10. Oh dear. Suppose it had to happen. We have escaped thus far. I have been harpooned 3 times and Mrs D 4 times. Grandaughter has had it twice and the rest of them once each.
    Happy days...
